70. Why can't Mac's Play AVI files from Windows?

AVI Files are no longer just using the AVI codec. They can be encoded with a number of codecs, including DivX.
You have two options: 1. Download VLC and play the file with it
2. Download the DivX codec from DivX.com. Run the installer, and open with QT. This doesn't always work as the DivX codecs are often updated, and the AVI may not be encoded with DivX to begin with.
