42. How can I import my Netscape bookmarks into Safari?

Safari automatically imports Internet Explorer's bookmarks on it's first run, and ONLY after the first run. It has no automatic provision for importing bookmarks from other browsers. So, here's a couple of workarounds.
The LONG story, useful if you have MANY Netscape bookmarks.
First, download the freeware app Safari Enhancer from Gordon Byrnes (see related links) or via VersionTracker. Quit Safari if it is running. Then run Safari Enhancer and click the "Import IE Favourites" button.
Next, start Netscape. Click "Manage Bookmards" to open the bookmarks window. Then from the Tools menu, select "Export" and save your bookmarks as an html file on your desktop. Quit Netscape.
Now, open IE. From the favorites menu select "organize favorites". From the FILE menu, export your IE bookmarks to an html file with a DIFFERENT name that what you gave the Netscape file. Delete all your IE bookmarks (you'll load them back later). From the FILE menu, import your Netscape bookmark file. Quit Explorer
Start Safari. It will now import all those Netscape bookmarks you pulled into IE!
Go back to IE, if desired, and delete all your Netscape bookmarks and re-import your old IE favorites back.
This sounds like a lot of work, but in actuality only takes about 5 minutes or less. Worth it if you have LOTS of bookmarks in Netscape (or browser other than IE.)
The SHORT Story, useful if you have just a few bookmarks. Have Safari and Netscape bookmark pages open simultaneously. Simply drag bookmarks from Netscape to Safari. You can even drag from Netscape directly to Safari's Bookmark Bar.
